HomeNewsLarge-scale vegan campaign “Be Fair. Be vegan" (Scout 22)

From August 8 to September 4, the advertising campaign “Be fair. Be a vegan” (“ Be Fair Be Vegan ”), calling on people to stop exploiting animals.

The initiator of this action was the American marketing agency Scout 22, which works exclusively with companies that make a "positive contribution to the life of the planet" (veganism, sustainable development, environmental friendliness, ethics). To promote ethical veganism in Manhattan, animated and static advertising posters have been posted that tell passers-by about the unfair treatment of animals that we eat, kill for clothing, scientific experiments and entertainment.

The authors of the campaign argue that the exploitation of animals is “the most widespread and socially acceptable injustice of all time”, and they want to help the masses see, realize this. From the Be Fair Be Vegan page: "An epidemic of global violence is calling us to reassess the treatment of animals that are the victims of the most extreme forms of our collective violence, and to realize that they are created to be our belongings no more than people of a different skin color, women, children and any other living beings. They, too, are individuals who value their lives, feel pain, fear death, and have the right to live without being oppressed.”

In particular, a series of posters from this vegan campaign showcase the similarities in the qualities and feelings of humans and animals, explaining to New York passers-by that we are all:

"Different but equal": "We admire."
  • individual,
  • we realize
  • we feel
  • we think
  • we hope
  • we value our lives
  • laughing
  • crying
  • wonder
  • admire,
  • mourn
  • we play
  • we are friends
  • falling in love
  • we raise families
  • we love children
  • nurture,
  • console,
  • we care
  • significant.

In addition, the Be Fair Be Vegan website has a Questions and Answers (FAQ) section that answers in sufficient detail (in English) popular questions about vegetarianism, veganism and the types of animal exploitation that exist in the world.
