Today, November 1st, the vegan community and sympathizers are celebrating World Vegan Day .
World Vegan Day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, President and Chairman of The Vegan Society of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in honor of the 50th anniversary of this charitable organization.
The term veganism is believed to have been coined during the founding of The Vegan Society in 1944, and today it is defined as: “A way of life that strives to exclude, as far as possible and feasible, all forms of exploitation of animals and cruelty to them for food, clothing, and any other purpose.”
On World Vegan Day, enthusiasts from all over the world who adhere to the vegan lifestyle or are interested in it hold various public events aimed at informing the public about the goals and benefits of veganism, and popularizing this movement as a whole. We would like to share with our website visitors the following articles on the importance of being compassionate towards animals and minimizing (or better, eliminating) the consumption of food of animal origin:
- «Vegetarianism as a choice of Life!»
- «Friendship without borders in photos»
- «Why and how animal husbandry harms the environment?»
Share this information with your friends, and may all living beings be happy! 🙂
