The Moscow Public Relations Committee informs that in the Public Chamber of the City of Moscow, within the framework of the thematic platform of the VII Moscow Civil Forum "Environmental Responsibility of the City and Citizens", a round table was held "What tasks can and should be solved by environmental education and enlightenment of the capital?".

The participants of the table recalled that this year the municipal stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in ecology was held. In their opinion, he showed that it is very important to establish a system of environmental education in schools, which should not only be optional. In addition, it was proposed to rank educational organizations and assign them the status of "Green School" for a limited time. Konstantin Ivanov, Deputy Head of the GPBU Mospriroda, proposed considering environmental education as a social request, making it one of the indicators of Moscow's competitiveness.
It is expected that recommendations for the Department of Education, the Department of Culture and the Department of Environmental Management of Moscow will be prepared from the recommendations of the section experts and the results of the work of the thematic platform of the forum "Environmental Responsibility of the City and Citizens" and presented to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin at the plenary meeting of the forum, which will be held on December 2.
