So that a walk in nature is not overshadowed by too close contact with the rest of the inhabitants of the forest, you should take care of insect protection (ticks, mosquitoes, lice, fleas, etc.) in advance so that no one gets hurt, and, of course, do it in an environmentally friendly way ! The first rule is closed clothing and shoes, which reduce the possibility of access to the body. Immediately after the walk, you must also make sure that there are no ticks on your clothes.
The second most effective method is insect repellent with the help of smell. There are many such sprays in stores, but they all have a chemical composition that harms not only you, who inhale the evaporating particles, but also the environment. Natural essential oils are an excellent and environmentally friendly means of dealing with various insects:
- ticks are afraid of the aromas of lavender, tea tree, palmarosa, geranium and cloves. To create a spray, mix 10 drops of any essential oil with 50 ml of water, pour into a special bottle, sprinkle skin and clothes with it. You can also make an oil balm by mixing 2 tbsp. l. any vegetable oil base with 10 drops of essential oil. Apply to skin and rub in well. The mixture can be stored in a cool place for up to 6 months;
- essential oils of citronella, peppermint, lemon, lavender, basil, clove, rosemary and eucalyptus will help against mosquitoes. How to prepare an aromatic mosquito spray: 10 drops of essential oil, 10 ml of alcohol and 100 ml of water. Any of the oils of these plants can be used for protection: it is enough to lubricate exposed skin with a mixture of essential oils and base oils, or drop the oil into cologne (5-10 drops), as well as on the source of fire - in a fireplace, a fire, on a candle or heated frying pan. In addition, it effectively repels mosquitoes, as in the legends about vampires, the smell of garlic 😉
You can use such natural remedies not only on the street, but also in your premises, thereby giving them a pleasant aroma. You can spray them from a spray bottle, heat them in an aroma lamp, aroma candle, drop them into a spoon and leave them anywhere for weathering. The undoubted advantage of this approach is that not a single creature will die! 🙂
