Organize eco-friendly outdoor picnics

Spring outdoor recreation is traditionally a favorite activity on the first warm weekend and especially during the holidays. But often what people leave after such a vacation in places where life used to boil leaves much to be desired. In order not only to have fun, but also not to harm nature, follow a few simple recommendations:

  • take a barbecue or grill with you - it does not burn out the soil, so grass and other vegetation can grow in the place of the fire;
  • do not use chemical ignition - it gets into the ground and air, and also settles on the food you cook. To build a fire, use dry grass, moss or spruce branches that do not get wet;
  • do not buy ready-made charcoal in stores - trees are cut down for this, and also impregnated with chemicals. Collect fallen or already cut tree branches, or use coconut charcoal (coconut shell), which releases 3 times more heat during combustion. At the end of the picnic, be sure to completely extinguish the fire;
  • choose fresh country products, do not buy ready-made marinades or canned food, products packaged in plastic. Stock up on compotes or juices for nature, do not drink soda and sugary drinks;
  • use reusable picnic sets, mugs, and thermoses instead of disposable tableware;
  • instead of plastic bags, use fabric bags, wicker baskets or special picnic boxes;
  • leave the place behind in a cleaner state than it was before you arrived. Do not burn garbage (especially plastic) - it can do more harm than good. Try to sort waste (organic, plastic, tin and paper) and dispose of accordingly (organic can be left in a designated area to decompose in nature);
  • Cycling out into the countryside is a great experience, health boost, and reduced ecological footprint.

Using the gifts of Nature, be grateful for the opportunity to have a great time! Do not forget that if we do not save Nature, then in a few years we will have nowhere to go for a picnic or just take a breath of fresh air for a walk. Be a part of Nature (which we all are), not a destroyer of it.
