This week in Lviv, took place - an electric bus, which was assembled at the local Electron plant.
The first Ukrainian electric bus is designed to carry up to 100 passengers, equipped for people with disabilities, as well as an air conditioning and heating system. The electric bus has a speed of up to 70 km/h and can travel up to 200 km without recharging. Fast charging (from 380 volts) takes 15-20 minutes. The cost of the electric bus is 9 million hryvnias (about 390 thousand USD). At the same time, the use of electricity allows the vehicle to be 10 times more economical than conventional city buses.
It is expected that after testing the electric bus, it will appear on city routes in Lviv this month. The fare is the same as in electric transport.
According to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, this year the city will purchase one electric bus, and plans for 2016-2018 are expected to purchase 600 vehicles, including new buses, trolleybuses and trams.
In the summer, it was also reported that another Ukrainian-made electric bus, manufactured at the Lutsk Sunrise enterprise based on the Bogdan model, appeared in Zhytomyr. Its cost was about 1 million hryvnia, and its technical characteristics allow it to reach speeds of up to 70 km/h and travel up to 250 km without recharging.
