The state environmental budgetary institution "Mospriroda" announced the campaign "Anti-plastic: make today a clean tomorrow."
A series of activities to clean up coastal areas and beaches starts tomorrow (Saturday, August 8). Not only terrestrial, but also underwater work will be carried out by the Aquanaut dive club project partner, activists of the Moscow divers' movement against garbage.
The place of events was chosen for a reason. Beach areas in summer are prone to huge plastic waste pollution, which harms aquatic ecosystems. The purpose of the action is to draw the attention of Moscow residents to the urgent problem of plastic consumption in everyday life, as well as resource conservation, the importance of separate waste collection and recycling. 4 actions on water and under water will be held in five natural areas of GPBU "Mospriroda". All garbage will be collected, weighed, sorted, and the partner of the Master of Kindness action, Renault Russia, will help deliver the collected plastic to the recycling site. The results of the collected garbage will be sent to the Project Aware World Water Pollution Data Bank, which analyzes the anthropogenic (human) impact on the environment.
Also, during the events, educational lectures on how to live in the city more environmentally friendly, various competitions, master classes and environmental quizzes will be held, the winners of which will receive tasty prizes from the Reserve Territory project. Schedule of events:
