Very often, in pursuit of fashionable novelties, we do not notice how we buy a lot of extra clothes, which we subsequently hammer into the farthest corner of the closet. After that, we safely forget about it, we run to the store for a new one. And at some important event or a move, it suddenly pops up how much unnecessary rags we have accumulated - we urgently need to do something with it. If you really won't be using these clothes anymore, find a worthy continuation of her life. Trash bin - no way, because:
- it will rot in a landfill for a long time and take up extra space;
- often toxic components are used in production, which, when decomposed, harm the ecosystem;
- the production of new clothes will consume new resources, as well as emit a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Let's see what you can do with things you no longer need:
- update with new decorative elements (braid, lace, rhinestones, ribbons, sequins, etc.) or turn into another type (trousers into shorts, a dress into a skirt, jeans into a bag, etc.);
- if you cannot find options for further wearing this item, give it to those who need it: orphanages, charitable foundations, rehabilitation centers, thrift stores. You can also take your clothes to flea markets, free markets, dress-crossing promotions (dress-crossing), where you can exchange for any other things;
- if the clothes are not suitable for wearing, they can be used in the household as improvised means: cleaning rags, dressings, bags, bedding, etc.;
- in case the previous options did not fit, give your clothes for recycling. Old things can be made into new fabrics or regenerated fiber for a variety of purposes: from insulation to sound insulation.
Acting in this way, you reduce garbage and one-time consumption on the Planet, reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, and do good by helping those in need. The most important thing is not to run to buy a new unnecessary thing to replace the discarded old one 🙂
